Hidden Camera NCAA: Talking Bench

To raise awareness of the NCAA’s new academic eligibility requirements for Division I athletes (increasing the GPA minimum from 2.0 to 2.3 in 2016), this hidden camera stunt gave high school athletes a shock when a bench started cracking jokes about their grades.

The Bench dished out tough love—telling one player, “I hope you pass tests better than you pass the ball,” and another, “You don’t know your GPA? Now I know why you’re over here.” The campaign included a 30-second PSA airing on Turner networks, ESPN, and CBS Sports plus in-theater spots.
